HCK series from 2kV to 65kV / 100W to 20kW High-voltage capacitor chargers are specifically designed for the requirements of capacitor charging and capacitor conditioning, ie they have a robust output resistance to withstand the stress of a pulsed load. The control circuit is designed for fast transitions from constant current to constant voltage operation. In terms of their mode of operation, they are primarily switched-mode power supplies with pulse width modulation. The rectified mains voltage is chopped into square-wave pulses of constant frequency, transformed, rectified and smoothed. The square wave voltage is width modulated for regulation.
